Saint-Petersburg
Saint-Petersburg is without a doubt one of the most beautiful and interesting cities in the world. The architecture of Saint-Petersburg is its calling card. The city, which is full of architectural harmony and European elegance, was founded in 1703 by Emperor Peter I on the banks of the Gulf of Finland in the Neva Delta as a “Window to Europe”.
The streets and prospects of the city on the Neva allow one to feel the surprisingly strict combination of the architecture of different eras and of different styles. Islands, twisting rivers and canals give the city a distinct uniqueness. Bridges, church domes glittering with gold and mosaics and wonderful palace facades open the visitor’s eyes.
From May to June you can experience the amazing White Nights which make the city particularly charming.
Saint-Petersburg is a city of museums. The city has over 170 museums for its guests to visit.
